tv and radio public service announcement- riding without a helmet

deanparrish:

Bicycle riding has been a great American past time for well over a century. These days, bicycles have been finding popularity all over the world, and especially here in our home country. A typical bicyclist is a young male, over the age of 16 who is riding through an urban area on a nice summer evening.. without a helmet. This “typical” bicyclist is also the “typical” victim to get hit and killed by a motor vehicle when riding on a major road between intersections. Are you going to be the “typical” victim? How could you prevent this from happening when you’re on a ride? Strap on that helmet and you’ll have little to worry about. Injuries due to riding without a helmet have gone up 10% since 1991. Go on riding bicycles through your urban areas, on the seasonal summer evenings with friends or just on your own- [just please remember to throw on that helmet before you get buck wild on your bike.]

A friendly reminder from Dean Parrish.
